See ya, May
I enjoy reading my friends' blogs so I feel like I should write one but I honestly have nothing interesting to say today. It has been a normal week of kids doing school work and their activities and me just being a mom. I've cleaned, planned meals, picked up groceries, took kids to the doctor for check ups, taught piano lessons and read. Last weekend was Curtis's last soccer game and he did well and his team won. Monday was supposed to be a player vs parents game but it got rained out so they just passed out small soccer balls and ice cream. Curtis and Brandon are constantly playing soccer in our hallway with that little ball so way more useful than some trophy. I really liked his coaches and it was a great season for him. Brandon has one more game on Saturday and then he will be done too. His game last week was way far away and while Josh was gone at stake conference and while Lily had dance rehearsal so it was a bit crazy and so hot that day but his team won for the first time and that was exciting. Lily has her ballet show this weekend and my in-laws are coming so it will be a busy and fun week. I love going to her shows. This year they can't perform in the same theater as normal so it will be a bit weird to be in a gym and sitting on bleachers but better than outside like last year. I'm still waiting for my van to get fixed and it still could be another week or two. I'm so grateful to have a rental car!
Josh has been super busy with work and his church responsibilities are picking back up again. It has been kind of nice to do things virtually and have him home so he can pop up and say hello during breaks but now he is starting to do more in person. Like tonight he has to drive to the stake center for seminary graduation, which means he'll be gone for about three to four hours for one event. Its fine but I've really appreciated the virtual stake meetings which has saved him a lot of driving and time over the past year. He seems a bit weary of always being so busy at work and at church and I can't wait to whisk him away on a relaxing vacation when he gets released. He cleaned out the garage on Friday and it looks amazing. We had a nice date Friday night watching the NBA playoffs and talking and I'm really grateful for him.
Yesterday I was hoping to go to Six Flags but it rained all day and was cold so we had a lazy day at home. The kids each did a job and then they went and played with neighborhood friends while Josh and I finished up the garage. Then we went to the library and out for dinner to Salsa's, which everyone liked this time. In the past my kids have been funny about Mexican restaurants but they're growing up and they all liked their food.
I think the most exciting thing was that I actually went back to the gym this past week. It was so wonderful to be in a class again and my instructors were both so happy to see me in person; it made me feel good. I miss Jana and Leisa working out with me but it feels so good to lift weights again and feel strong and healthy. Doing the zoom classes with my little dumbbells I feel kept me going but now I can really work out again and do more and I'm excited.
This time of year would normally be filled with band concerts and school activities and it is crazy to me that Curtis is done with elementary school but none of that is happening so school is just going to be over in just 13 more school days. We have a lot of family time scheduled in June with my in-laws coming, then a weekend with my sister and then a week in Rochester with my parents and another sister. By the end of the summer we will have seen every member of both of our families, except for one nephew on his mission. I'm excited and ready for fun and relaxing and reconnecting with the world, despite how awkward I feel about it.

I enjoy reading your blog 😊
