The week I was too busy to write

Image
Well, it has been a busy almost two weeks but today is icy and school was cancelled so we are just chillin' today and I actually have a few minutes.  Last week was school, laundry, teaching piano lessons, driving the girls to dance, trips to BJs (twice in one night because I forgot something I really needed), and lots of planning and painting. I painted all day on Friday (which was a snow day for the kids) and finally finished the basement and it looks great! I wasn't so sure about the stairwell and thought maybe I had gone too dark, but I am getting used to it. It feels good to have that project done and now I'll get to work on the boys' room/bathroom. I went to get paint last week before snow hit and the line to get paint was so long so I guess a lot of other people thought it was a good idea too.  Saturday Josh actually made waffles (with Lily's help) and then my kids cleaned their rooms. It took four hours until they all passed inspection but I had warned them ...

The week of snow!

It was a pretty good week. I did all the same stuff I normally do but I also painted the wall that goes down into the basement, finished putting up the wall paper (a peel and stick that I love!) and hung up all the temple paintings I had ordered for a wall down there. I now just need to paint two more small walls and then the rest of the staircase walls (the inside ones) and it will be done! It is such a fun, cool space now and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Someday soon we'll need all new carpeting in our house but not quite yet.  We also had our temple recommend interviews this week and that is always a good experience, especially when we didn't have to drive 45 minutes and wait in a long line for our turn! I think doing stake stuff virtually is fantastic and I hope they stick with it for some things even when it is okay to do in person stuff again, whenever that may be.  Josh was off Friday and it was so nice to have him home. In between me doing all my stuf...

The week I didn't feel like writing

It was a week full of laundry, piano lessons, cleaning, cooking, errands to Target (three times in three days), doctor appointments, dance, grocery planning and pick up, checking up on school work and one exercise class.  The low point was Thursday when I took Josh to his check up and ended up having to leave him at the hospital and wait all day to find out what was going on. Turns out he has a blood clot and and now he has to take a super expensive blood thinner and not massage his leg and hopefully not have a stroke. I waited during his regular appointment (1pm) but then when he had to go to the ER for the ultrasound, I waited a bit but then I had to go and it was rough. I kept waiting for the call that he was ready to go but he wasn't until 10:15pm. I am grateful he is (hopefully) going to be fine and was very happy to have him back home.  I also took Brandon to his check up this week and it went much better. He is growing and healthy and the sweetest.  We watched a lo...
