Week 15

Monday was a fun day. We went to Elms beach with our crew and it was a beautiful day. I don't think there is a much better way to spend a day than playing at the beach, especially with friends. There was lots of swimming, some kayaking, playing on boogie boards, lots of talking, eating snacks, playing in the sand, exploring, and a few run-ins with wildlife. We loaded up and left just as a big storm hit, we came home and made BLTs and had family night. Tuesday was a cleaning day and a bit of a rest from our fun the day before. I taught a few piano lessons and everyone had two cleaning jobs. We did laundry and vacuumed the car and it felt good to restore some order to the house. Then the girls both had dance back at the studio so I dropped them both off, went to BJs, picked up Emma, put the food away and got her and Brandon in bed, then went back for Lily. Their show is this weekend so I'm glad they got to go back to the stuido at least for one week before performing. Josh was ...

Week 14

Well, I got behind. Sunday was busy and I didn't have any time to myself so here we are a few days late. Monday (over a week ago) was awhile ago and I don't know what I can remember other than for family night treat I made some of Mary Berry's Viennese Whirls from the Great British Baking show and they actually turned out. I am not a baker and not good at making things look pretty but they tasted pretty good and looked decent. The jam was a bit runny and leaked a bit through the biscuit so Paul would not have been happy, but my family was and it was fun to try something new. Tuesday we went to pick up Emma's stuff from school and it was more emotional than I thought it would be. They had a certain number of cars pull into the bus loop, teachers came and brought our stuff, then they released us all at once with everyone honking and waving. Such a weird school year and a sad, strange way to end it. I taught piano, my girls had dance, Curtis had a primary activity and ...

Week 13

Lucky number 13! It was a good week. Monday I took Lily to get her stuff out of her locker. She was in there for awhile and I started to get worried she couldn't get her shelves out or something but turns out she was busy writing and leaving a note in her friend's locker so that they could get in touch. Then we went to Target to get some gatorade and goggles so we could hit the beach with our friends. It was a perfectly pleasant day and the kids had a fantastic time kayaking, swimming and playing in the sand, with only some arguing. We stayed until 5:30 pm, came home and took showers, had leftovers and a nice family home evening. Curtis taught the lesson and I was so impressed with how well thought out it was and spiritually mature. I also talked with my parents for a bit because it was their 58th wedding anniversary. I really love my parents and appreciate them and the example of a good marriage they set for me. Tuesday was I did my zoom gym class, then it turned in...

Week 12

This week was pretty good and I am grateful. Our pool is going to open on Saturday, we got to hang out with friends this week, we only have nine days of school left, we're going to be able to get Lily's stuff out of her locker tomorrow morning, and we had Cafe Rio for dinner last night. Monday I did laundry, ordered some gifts for people, and went for a bike ride. We have a new family that moved into our ward and they live close by so I dropped off a card and a treat as a welcome for them. I went back yesterday to take them some chairs and a table because their stuff hasn't arrived yet and got to meet him and he is super nice. I am excited to meet his wife and kids. I also watched a friend's daughter for a bit while she had a doctor appointment and it just feels good to help people again. Tuesday I did a zoom gym cardio class and Lily joined me so that was fun. I taught three piano lessons and then my girls had dance and Curtis had a primary activity where they star...
