Lots of baseball

Image
Another week. I've had lots of feelings this week and I usually save those for my journal but it has been a week of ups and downs. Monday my parents left and I got to go on a field trip with my favorite first grader. It was his first ever field trip and he was excited. We went to Elms Environmental center (my favorite field trip) and had a great time. It was fun to get to know his classmates and I love his teacher. It was a beautiful day and the kids didn't have to wear masks outside and I'm glad I got to go be with him. Then I hurried home to teach piano lessons and do dinner and family night.  Tuesday I did laundry and read. It was book club night and I was only 35 pages in so I read for a few hours in between laundry and ironing and kitchen clean up and it was nice. Then I took Brandon to baseball and read there too but was 60 pages short of finishing the book. I got home and made dinner, ate a quick dinner, finished the last load of laundry and helped the kids with som...

22 Years

Saturday was a special day because it marked 22 years since the day Josh got baptized. I always get him a tie to celebrate and this year there wasn't much of a selection. I try to get him one that kind of represents our year so I finally picked one that has a geometric pattern that kind of looks like mountain peaks because of our trip out west. He got it the moment he saw it and it honestly made me love him a bit more. He and I have really been in tune with each other lately and I am totally in love with him. I mean, I have been since I was 17 but I think our extra time together lately has made us especially tight the last few months.  Anyway, we were kind of busy on Saturday to celebrate but I did give him his tie but then on Sunday we had a special dinner and dessert and during dinner I asked the kids all kinds of questions about Josh's baptism. They did pretty well for the most part. They knew he was baptized in Orlando because he was going to school at UCF. They knew sist...

The Fair, Top Dog and Conference

It  has been a pretty great week. We've settled into our routines so it doesn't seem so overwhelming now. Josh gets up most days with the early kids but I get up with them sometimes when he has off or needs to be at work super early and it is working. We go to bed way earlier than we have ever before, which cramps our style, but we're dealing with it.  Last weekend was the fair. I wasn't quite sure when we would go since I like it when Josh can come but it is so much cheaper to go on Friday so kind of last minute, that's what we decided to do. We went pretty early though since Lily had dance that afternoon so we went and got the rides out of the way and then saw the animals, the crafts and art and vegetables and the pig races. We hung out with the Rays/Ainas for a bit doing the rides and saw a few other people but we mostly just were on our own. We had planned to get doughnuts to take home but our doughnut place wasn't there and we were all sad so we got funnel...
