Week 28
So I'm a few days behind but last week was pretty good. Monday I did laundry, cut the grass, helped with school and taught two piano lessons. I had hoped to run some errands but have learned that there is just no time. Either my kids have school stuff or I have piano lessons or they have other activities. It is so hard to get out of this house and run simple errands, but I am trying hard not to feel trapped or frustrated, succeeding sometimes more than others. It doesn't help that Josh is super stressed at work and working overtime so there is just no flexibility or give in my schedule.
Anyway, Tuesday was busy. We got Emma a new-to-her bike from a neighbor and had to pick up math manipulatives from school and then I did squeeze in a quick trip to Lowes for a gallon of paint before we had to get back for school work. I spent all week taping and getting ready to paint my hallway. We finally got the cracks in the foundation filled that day. The builder isn't doing anything so we went with the cheaper option of this apoxy stuff that takes a few hours to inject into the wall but we're hoping that will do it. Now we need to fix the drainage and then we can finally put the basement back. I have really missed having that space! I also taught two piano lessons, took Curtis to baseball and then I listened to our RS activity while driving home. It was about scripture study and it was uplifting and motivating.

Wednesday I did my body pump class, helped a bunch with school work, cleaned and then took Lily to her youth activity. They went to a cemetary and took pictures of grave stones for family history websites to use. It was good to do something in person but it made it challenging to get here there early but luckily I could just drop her off and Josh brought her home.
Thursday I had a ministering interview with Michelle and that was pretty good. I love the two ladies I minister to and have good relationships with them but it can still feel like I don't do enough for them as they are both in pretty tough life situations. I taught piano and made a quick dinner and then took Curtis to his first baseball game. He seriously played so well and it was really exciting to watch him succeed. Josh picked up Emma and Brandon on his way home from work and got Lily from dance and took them all home so I got to sit by myself at the game and cheer and relax and it was awesome. Curtis hit a double, pitched for the first time and struck a kid out with no walks and he caught a pop fly. He also played catcher for the first time for two innings and did a good job. I'm so glad baseball is a socially distanced sport and he is able to play.
Friday I finally was ready to paint and spent all morning painting and helping wtih school work. Then we took a break and went to the park to play for a few hours before getting Lily to dance and I had another piano lesson. Then dinner and Curtis and Josh went off to another baseball game but it started raining so they only got to play two innings. I finished painting and I am really happy with the result. I think I may paint my other little hallway and the back entry way then I will eventually finish the stairway downstairs once the basement is put back together.
Saturday was busy because it was the only day I could run errands so Lily and I did some shopping and then cleaning and then we had a pizza extravaganza with the Tripps. Steve and Josh are extreme pizza nerds and spent all afternoon/evening talking pizza and making about 10 pizzas in Josh's new oven. I am so glad they have each other. The kids all had a friend to play with and everyone had a nice time.
Sunday was a beautiful Sabbath day. We had a fantastic discussion for our church meeting taught by the missionaries and I was so impressed with how they taught. They have been well trained and did such a good job of leading a meaningful discussion. Then we had such a fun primary singing time where we played the game where someone hides an object and as another person tries to find it everyone has to sing louder or softer depending on how close they are to it. It made my heart so happy to hear them all belting I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus when someone was close to finding it. We had a nice sacrament meeting about applying some of the principles Jesus teaches in 3 Nephi when he visits the Nephites and then the kids played well all afternoon. Lily baked pumpkin cheesecake bars, we had a nice dinner, then I got to attend a stake RS activity that was fantastic. I absolutely loved it and felt so uplifted by it. The speaker was a friend's dad and is about to turn 90 and was so real, spiritual and I loved how he used lots of examples and real stories about the importance of turning to Christ and letting him help us in our relationships. Josh was busy with church stuff so the kids ran a bit wild but they all eventually got to bed and it was worth it.

This week has been an adventure already but I'll save that fun for later.
