Great Wolf Lodge

 The weather was pretty ugly on Sunday so we weren't sure we would be able to make our little getaway happen but we woke up Monday morning to sunshine and pretty much dry roads. So we packed up and headed out to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. There was no traffic so we made it there in great time and got to the water park by 12pm. Our room wasn't ready until a few hours later but we just kept everything in the car except our suits and it all worked. The kids loved the pool with the basketball hoops and the slides and the wave pool. They were all very independent and would just come check on me while I finished my book. Then we all went together on the slides and stuff and it was fun. Curtis especially loved the flow rider. 

 

We dragged them out of there around 6pm to get changed and we went to IHOP for dinner. Then it was back to the room for bed. We had a kid cabin suit so three beds were in this cabin -looking room and my kids loved it. Lily was a little sad the beds were too short for her so she was stuck on the sofa pull out bed next to us but everyone slept well so that was what mattered. Tuesday morning we had breakfast at the buffet and then everyone got their suits on and we took all our other stuff out to the car and were back in the water park by 10am. It was fun to just relax and talk with Josh or I did the lazy river a lot and then would go down one of the tube slides with the kids. When we would get cold, Josh and I would go in the adult hot tub and that was nice. Curtis and Brandon and Josh did a lot of the flow rider that day and they all got pretty good at doing rolls and other tricks. It was just easy and fun for everyone. I'm so glad we got to go. We took showers and got changed about 4:30 and pulled out by 5 to get home in time for bed and to be ready for school the next day. It was a perfect little getaway and wonderful family time and fun to celebrate our little buddy. 

 

 

The rest of the week felt so short since Monday was a holiday and we had skipped Tuesday. I took Lily to the doctor for her 13 year check up and everything looks good. Josh was off Friday but I was in a crummy mood so we just sat around and talked and it was nice. Saturday Curtis's game went well and they won again. He had a steal and then got a lay up and it was very exciting. Brandon had practice and then Josh went to stake conference and I read all afternoon. Then I went up to the adult session of conference and it was so nice. I had good time in the car with my friend, Noreen, and it was good to be with Josh and in person. Hardly anyone was there since you could just watch it online but since I could go and preferred to go, I'm glad I got to be there in person. I've been feeling very out of sorts the last few days so the conference was a much appreciated boost to my spirit. 

Yesterday we watched stake conference, which was so good, and I read the Ensign and talked to my parents and the missionaries came over to get to know us. I posted an invitation on facebook to the temple open house and later got a text from a number I didn't recognize that they had gotten a tour time and were excited to go. I asked who it was and it turns out it was one of my old neighbors that I'm not really friends with anymore but she is excited to go to the temple and learn more about it so that's awesome. I can't wait for it to be open again.
