The week I didn't feel like writing
It was a week full of laundry, piano lessons, cleaning, cooking, errands to Target (three times in three days), doctor appointments, dance, grocery planning and pick up, checking up on school work and one exercise class.
The low point was Thursday when I took Josh to his check up and ended up having to leave him at the hospital and wait all day to find out what was going on. Turns out he has a blood clot and and now he has to take a super expensive blood thinner and not massage his leg and hopefully not have a stroke. I waited during his regular appointment (1pm) but then when he had to go to the ER for the ultrasound, I waited a bit but then I had to go and it was rough. I kept waiting for the call that he was ready to go but he wasn't until 10:15pm. I am grateful he is (hopefully) going to be fine and was very happy to have him back home. I also took Brandon to his check up this week and it went much better. He is growing and healthy and the sweetest.
We watched a lot of Full House last week. We got season 2 from the library and only had the week before it was due so we watched a lot of it and it was fun. Saturday night we got pizza and ate dinner while finishing up the last few episodes and the kids thought it was so fun (since our tv is downstairs and we never eat while we watch it). They really like the show (except there is too much kissing, according to Curtis) and it has been fun to watch together.
Sunday it snowed! It was very exciting and right after church the kids were out playing in it. I went out and took some pictures but then they went to Mahi's back yard to sled down her little hill and I came inside to sit by the fire and write in my journal while Josh did church interviews all afternoon. Then it was the snow gear dump and hot chocolate time and then we had dinner and scripture study and got the kids in bed. I love the snow, especially when we don't have to go anywhere.
Yesterday and today were delays so we got to sleep in and have a nice breakfast and take it easy, which I love. I've been working on the basement and reading. I saw what I thought was an offensive post from a friend last week on FB and it really upset me so I decided I was done. I haven't been on all week and it has been nice. I will keep my account for church and neighborhood stuff but I have not missed all the negativity and stupid posts and I don't feel annoyed that people are having fun while I am not. We made it to February and I am not sad to have January in the rear-view. Though it has been difficult, I feel pretty good about how I have handled it all and taken care of everything the past month. Except I forgot to put out the garbage today and that is a bummer, but my kids are alive, healthy, doing well in school, playing nicely with each other, my house isn't too dirty, we have food to eat and my husband is (so far) still alive and in love with me. For this week, we'll call that a win.
