Suess!
This past weekend was Emma's school play. Our school is the only elementary one in the county that does a musical and it has been a great experience for Emma. I think Lion King last year was better, only because Emma was in it more and felt more involved and the costumes were so awesome, but this year they did Suessical and it was fun. Emma was a Who and had a cute tennis mom costume that was all white and yellow. She was only in three scenes but had fun being a part of the show.

I went Thursday night to dress rehearsal and then Friday I helped serve them dinner and sell tickets before the show then our whole family watched the show. Saturday I was there by intermission of the first one to sell concessions and I stayed until the end of the second show after having served the kids lunch and selling concessions during intermission of the second show too. Brandon came and was my buddy so that was fun. Emma did well and I have been humming the music all weekend. It is mostly about Horton and combines his two stories of sitting on the egg and finding the Whos. All the kids did so well, especially Emma's best friend, who was Gertrude, and the girl that played Maisey the Lazy Bird. Good times!
My in-laws came for the weekend to support Emma and just to visit since they haven't been here in 9 months so that was nice. Josh took off Thursday and we walked around Solomon's and it was such a beautiful day. Our evenings were busy with kid stuff since baseball started this week. Friday Josh had off and we went to a new restaurant down on the water in Ridge and it was really good. My in-laws loved it and it was a lovely day. It was nice to just relax and talk with them during the day before all the craziness of our evenings. Saturday Curtis had a scrimmage in Waldorf and a birthday party and then he went to see Dune 2 with Josh and his dad. Emma and Brandon and I were at the school most of the afternoon and my MIL and Lily hung out after dance. It was sweet, they made a cake for Emma that was suessified to celebrate her show that night. Sunday we went to church while they stayed home and relaxed and we spent the rest of the day playing games and talking. Josh was very busy but at least made it home for dinner before he was off again. We also had some car issues but luckily got those taken care of yesterday.
I've been very busy planning our ward Easter activity, I painted the main floor bathroom and gave it a refresh, we are figuring out details of our trip, I went to the temple and ran into Amy in the celestial room and had a great chat with her, and we had some family fun when the kids had a day off of school and went for a walk and got doughnuts and watched Fixer to Fabulous. We get so little time together as a family these days; the kids are growing up and getting busy and I feel like we've become rather unsocial because we first just have such little time when we're all home and so second I don't really want to share it with anyone else. I also went to see Lily and Curtis play with their bands in the county adjudication performance one morning and I enjoyed hearing them play and seeing them during the school day. Lily's band did especially well and had one song that was super fun. I was almost late for Curtis's performance because as I was leaving my neighborhood that day I had to wait for this huge heron to cross the road. It was cool and I love big birds.
Josh is finally better after having been kind of sick or really sick since early November. He finally kicked the sinus infection after multiple rounds of medicine and then he had to have a root canal and a new crown put on because the infection got into a cavity in his old crown and killed the root and was causing all sorts of problems. Such a mess! Then he had stomach pains this whole past week but he declared himself yesterday healthy for the first time now in four months. Hooray!
