Life

I have a hard time believing anyone cares about what is going on in my very normal life but here is a quick list.

. I played the piano for a funeral

. taught a bunch of piano lessons; so far I like one of the new kids I started and the other one I am still figuring out

. I went on a field trip with Brandon to Sotterly Plantation. He was so happy to have me there and it was a beautiful day. We learned all about pollinators and seed spreaders and habitats. His teacher is super nice.

. drove my girls to dance, there and back, there and back, there and back so many times

. went for a walk with Sarah

. had my first mammogram and just got the letter that all is normal; such a relief

. sat at baseball practice and read for many hours

. lifted weights

. went out on a lunch date with Josh to Olive Garden

. went to book club and discussed a book I had picked. It went well and we had a great discussion.

. took two kids to the orthodontist and Lily gets her braces off in six weeks--hooray!

. have successfully avoided cleaning out my freezer for two weeks now

. went to school and made copies for all of the teachers one morning, which I enjoyed

. took the Ray girls with us to the fair Friday morning and we had a good time. It was pretty crowded in the ride area so I was glad we had gone there first and we were out of there before it got too crazy. We saw Curtis's best friend who raises sheep and had fried oreos and ice cream and kettle corn and went through all of the buildings. It was a lovely but tiring day. Then we took Lily to dance and then the Ray girls home and went to the library then dropped Emma off at dance and Josh and I went out for a quick dinner. I really appreciate how he has been making the effort to take me out almost every weekend so we at least get an hour or two of quality time together. There have been so many stake trainings and activities lately that he has been gone at least one night every weekend this month. We watched the newer Downton Abby movie and it was okay.

. watched Brandon and Curtis play baseball (games at the same park for once!) and their teams both won. Curtis even pitched and did really well.

. went to church and participated in the service project to package food for homeless shelters and food pantries. It was well organized and we got a lot done in a short amount of time.

. went to Bruster's because Josh is obsessed. He hasn't been able to eat ice cream for a few years but they have a non-dairy one made with oat milk he can have and he is making up for lost time for sure

. attended church and it was lovely. We had a great discussion in relief society about Elder Holland's talk and what we're still suffering from as a result of the pandemic. It got personal and heart-felt and I'm so grateful the Savior can heal all wounds. I had a long talk with Josh about mine and how they keep reopening and I just want to be able to move on but am finding it difficult. I know that Jesus Christ will help me though and that through his atonement, all can be made right in my heart again.

. had my friend, Noreen, over for dinner because today is her birthday. She is beloved by our whole family and it has been so long since we've been able to spend time together. It was wonderful to catch up with her and make her feel loved and celebrated

. got Lily signed up to go to Disney World in January with the high school music program and filled out the last of the paperwork for her to go to NYC next week. She is one lucky girl.
