Florida Part 1

Presidents’ Day was fun because we had a brunch and the Wiests came over. Curtis had his friends over and after brunch Josh took them to do an escape room while I taught the Wiest girls their piano lessons. They had fun and made it out so that was good. Max ended up hanging out for awhile because of some miscommunication so he and Curtis built a fire in the new fire pit and they had a great time. My in laws got to our house about 5 and we had pizza for dinner and chatted.    Tuesday I spent all day getting the house and my in laws ready for us to go and showing them around so they would know where to go. It was so busy! I also had a bunch of piano lessons and Curtis got his braces off. I also went to book club which was fun and a good discussion but I didn't stay too late since I still had to pack. Then on Wednesday morning Josh and I packed up and left about 11am for our trip and it was so amazing! We had an easy flight and got to Miami around 5:30. We got our car and w...

Life is Good

I usually don't like February because it is dark and gray and cold and for some reason I am always sad and kind of down because of it. This year, however, has been so busy because I have our trip to look forward to and have been doing all sorts of prep work so it has been a good couple of February weeks.  One day I took Lily and Brandon to the doctor. Our doctor sold his practice and retired and then the practice closed the office near us so I had to take them to Waldorf, which was annoying but we tried to make the most of it. None of the other pediatricians around here are taking new patients right now so I may need to switch my kids to a family doctor because I don't love the Waldorf one enough to stay loyal. But both kids are healthy and growing and all is well so I can check that mom box. It was a lot of driving though and then I had piano lessons all afternoon and dance drop offs and pick ups.  The rest of the week was normal with dance, basketball, school, piano, c...

Highlights

Lily had a great weekend in Disney World and I was happy when she got home. She loved the music workshop and had fun with her friends and got to go on her favorite rides. Curtis had two more great basketball games and so far his team has only lost one game all season and it was their first one. His team is just good and fun to watch. They are aggressive on defense and pass the ball well and they communicate well with each other. It has been a great experience for him and he's already so much better.  Both boys got to do baseball clinics to brush up on their skills before spring season starts. Josh took both of them and that was awesome. Tuesday I did some shopping and went out to lunch with Sarah. It was fun to talk and catch up! Thursday I met my high school friend Michelle in Waldorf for brunch. I always enjoy connecting with her and enjoy getting together every few months. I talked to my sister, Cindy, on the way home and really love and miss her. I wish she didn't live in U...

He's home!

It's been a week! Josh has been away for work for the last two weeks but he came home last night and it is so wonderful to have him back. Two weeks was kind of a long time but he had a successful trip and made good use of his time. Last week was pretty normal other than him being gone. Piano lessons, band rehearsals, church activities, play rehearsal, basketball, and trip planning. I made copies at school one morning and did a lot of driving back and forth to dance.  Saturday I took Brandon to basketball and Lily to dance and then Brandon and I went to Curtis's game later that afternoon. A cold has been going through our family and so there has been a lot of coughing and stuffy noses so I agreed to let the girls stay home and rest. It wasn't Curtis's best game but he did all right and his team won. That evening I went to the adult session of stake conference and it was wonderful. Our buddy Sam spoke and Sister Flake's talk on the power of covenants was so real and ...

Brandon Boy

Monday was a wonderful day. I had so much to do but my mom and dad helped me and it was amazing. Dad offered to go get the oil changed in my van, Mom made Brandon's birthday cake for me, I wrapped presents and did laundry and taught piano. Mom even made most of dinner while I was teaching and I felt so spoiled. We had Brandon's official birthday dinner Monday since the girls have dance Tuesday nights so we had chicken pillows and then Brandon opened his presents. He received a new back pack, LEGOS, a robot book, Lily got him a hat like hers from NYC that he loves and Emma offered to do his Saturday job one week. We got him some scriptures with a case and also some little squishmellows that he was so excited about.  His actual birthday was Tuesday and we sang to him at breakfast and then I took lunch to him at school with a milkshake. They still won't let parents into the cafeteria so I signed him out and he ate in the car with me and my mom. He's such a sweet little gu...
