Dancing with Daffodils

 This week was camp week. Emma went every day to a Girl Scout camp that she loved. I just had to drop her off and pick her up at school and a bus took her to the fairgrounds each day. It worked out so well and she absolutely loved it. She loved all the social time and activities and being busy each day. She loved the singing and arts and crafts and water play and she loved her counselors. Lily went to girls camp (which was a day camp) Monday through Wednesday and had a good experience. Thankfully the moms worked out a carpool so I only had to drive once because even getting the girls that one time was tricky.  The boys and I had a good couple of days. We did laundry and cleaned and they played lots of Legos and had friend time. One morning we went to the pool and swam for a long time.  Father's day was pretty low key. It was so nice to have Josh around in the morning and we made him German pancakes and gave him cards and a tie. Turns out that almost all the men at church were receiving the same tie and it was pretty funny when they all showed up to church and realized they were wearing all matching. Kellyn had seen a video of another church who did it with shirts but since our guys all wear white shirts anyway, we did ties. It was fun and unifying and made everyone smile. That afternoon we talked to our dads and went for a walk and had BBQ ribs for dinner. I am so grateful for Josh and he really is such a patient, loving dad. I truly feel like we are equal partners in our parenting and it is a blessing for our children to have a dad so committed to serving the Lord, working hard every day for our family and our country and who loves me and them so much. He provides for us and takes care of our cars and computers and gives piggy back rides and plays catch. We...

 What a wonderful and busy time we have had. June 10-11 was Lily's show and it was so amazing. It was Alice in Wonderland, which is one of the few Disney movies I actually don't like, but the storyline was creative and fun and it made for a good show. Friday night we all went to Nicolletti's for dinner and then the girls went to see Lily dance while the boys went to Curtis's baseball game. We were all so impressed and had so much fun and everyone got teary-eyed because Lily danced so beautifully. It was especially fun to have my parents here for the first time so they can appreciate what Lily does. My mom gushed about how impressed she was with the choreography and creativity of it all. I love that it isn't a typical dance recital but an engaging story that is fun to watch even when your kid isn't on stage.  After the Myers left I relaxed for a few hours. It is so much work having company but it was wonderful to have them here. Then I went and had brunch with my friend from high school Wednesday morning. We have actually been friends since 8th grade and I love that she lives close enough that we can meet up regularly to talk. She just gets me and there aren't many people in this world that do so I'm really grateful for her. We laughed and complained and talked baseball and dance and it was so fun. Thursday I did a whole lot of cleaning to get ready for my parents to come. I also went to Curtis's baseball game but after the first inning a crazy thunderstorm blew in so they called the game. Curtis has been playing so well and was invited to be on the all-star team but some of the games are while we are in NC at the beach so he couldn't do it.  Friday I went to the gym and then up to the airport to get mom and dad.
