The good news is, we made it through an extremely emotional, stressful, hard week. Monday started off with Emma's open house. Thankfully going into 8th grade is a bit more chill since she already knows the school and schedule. So we walked around and met her teachers or at least saw them and went through her schedule a few times and called it good. Curtis went to school to get his parking pass, Lily was doing laundry and packing, then Emma went to a stay-in-shape dance class taught by the seniors and Brandon and I went to his open house. He was obviously more nervous about a new school and going from class to class and so we went through his schedule a few times and said hi to all of his teachers. I think both kids have good teachers this year and I am hopeful that they will both have a great year. Getting up so early is the worst but once seminary starts, all three kids will be out of the house by 6:45 am and I'm a free woman until 2:30 pm. I much prefer the 9-4 schedule of el...

The week of Lily

What a week! Monday was Lily's 18th birthday. She had plans with friends that fell through so we started the day by taking Curtis to do his last driving lesson and while he was doing that we went to Newtowne Neck for an hour or so and it was beautiful. We walked around and sat on the beach for a bit and it would have been great if we had planned to hang out for a few hours and have our friends join us like the old days. But instead we picked Curtis up and stopped by the library and came home to make Lily's birthday cheesecake. She went and hung out with a friend for a few hours and Curtis went to cross country and then Josh (after taking his co-worker to the airport) made Lily pizza for her birthday dinner.   My emotions have been all over the place this week. I feel so happy and excited for Lily and then I get really sad that she is going to be gone and then I get stressed about how this week is all going to work out with everyone starting school and being gone and then I get ...
